May 2014 Fishing Report

Our charter season has just begun. We have school bass all over on the inside and larger bass starting to show on the outer beachfront. No tuna seen yet, but all the signs are here offshore, with lot of whales, birds and bait. Just a few more degrees and the tuna should arrive. We will be out on our first serious effort for tuna later this week.

Just returned from a delivery of a 41' Luhrs Express from Stuart, Florida to Stonington, CT with Capt. Mike Welch, Capt. Jerry Brown and Capt. Jay Williams. We had six days of running and one day of fishing off Morehead City, North Carolina where we ran into some Mahi and Blackfin tuna before the weather turned and we had to head in. Overall a great trip with a great crew despite some very challenging sea conditions along the way.
